Overlord Appoints New Director

CALGARY, April 26, 2005 - Overlord Financial Inc. (TSX Venture: OFI) (the "Corporation") is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Kirk Purdy to the Board of Directors effective April 25, 2005.

Mr. Purdy was the founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of Viking Energy Trust from 1996 to 2004. He has extensive experience in the oil and gas industry, as well as in merchant banking, international project management, pipeline infrastructure implementation and commercial real estate. "Overlord is delighted to have Mr. Purdy on the Board.
