To broaden the strength of the equity team, Robert Gill joined MW as Portfolio Manager in August 2010. Robert was formerly with Foyston, Gordon & Payne Investment Counsel for seven years, where he was the Director of Research and Associate Portfolio Manager for Global Equities and U.S. Equities. Sam Szeto joined MW in the fall 2010 as Senior Research Analyst. Sam began his investment management career in Hong Kong and later worked in Ireland for a number of years covering global equities. After returning to Toronto, he was an equity analyst with Beutel, Goodman & Co., and Foyston, Gordon & Payne. More recently, Garnet Powell, also formerly of Foyston, Gordon & Payne, joined MW as Senior Research Analyst.
In July 2011, 100% of Morrison Williams was acquired by Aston Hill Financial (AHF - S&P/TSX), an asset management firm with approximately $5.6 billion of assets under management. The affiliation with AHF provides direct benefits to Morrison Williams by expanding its investment research capabilities and strengthening MW’s client service and operations functions.
Effective January 2012, MW operates as a division of Aston Hill Asset Management Inc., the principal operating subsidiary of AHF.
